Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez announce they won't go their separate ways

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez might not go their separate ways after all.

Less than 24 hours after news of the couple's split spread like wildfire, it was reported that JLo and A-Rod issued a joint statement announcing that they would stay together.

"We are working on a number of things," Lopez and Rodriguez said in a joint statement obtained by People. The stars also tell TMZ, "All reports are inaccurate."

The couple got engaged in March 2019 after nearly two years of dating.

News of their split was first reported by Page Six on Friday, March 12, and then reported by The Associated Press. Neither star has commented publicly on social media at the time of posting.

The 51-year-old singer and actress is filming Shotgun Wedding in the Dominican Republic and posts a photo of herself approaching Rodriguez, 45, in late February. The former Yankees star recently posted a solo photo in Miami. A-Rod accompanied Lopez to Washington, DC, to perform the inauguration of President Joe Biden on January 20, calling it a "special moment" he will never forget.

Lopez took to social media last March to show off her engagement ring while the two were on vacation in the Bahamas. For the majority of 40s, the couple have spent time at home with their mixed family, including their 13-year-old twin with ex-husband Mark Anthony and Rodriguez's teenage daughters with ex-wife Cynthia Scores.

During her appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in April 2020, Lopez opened up about how the pandemic affected her wedding plans. “Honestly, I really don't know what's going to happen now in terms of dates or anything like that,” she told DeGeneres. "We're sort of on hold like the rest of the world."

Last month, Lopez told Allure that the downtime allowed him and Rodriguez to “work on ourselves” by entering therapy.
